FYI: I did read the separate thread on the Dolphin but these questions are a little different (I think)
For those of you who have have the Dolphin II would you be willing to take a video (if you don't have one already) of you doing chair massage in this chair to post (on YouTube, Vimeo, etc) for me to view? I ask because I'm really interested in this chair and want to see it "at work", but 1) the only places that are even remotely close to me to give it a test are in NYC in one direction and RI in another. I'm not particularly crazy about having to travel 4-5hrs round trip.
2) The Pisces Pro video on YouTube only shows the setup and break down of the chair. While that would be helpful when I actually have the chair, it's not so much now.(Anyone can chime in on this portion of my question)
Also, the negative "reviews" I've gotten from the few people I've asked about it in my area have me baffled. I wondered why I can't find anyone around here with it. The answers I've received when asking around, are cloudy at best. Even someone at our school store cautioned me against it but was unable to give me a direct reason. I attributed that to our store being an Oakworks affiliate. I'm left to think that these "reviews" are not based on actual experience, but rather hearsay. So if any of you (whether you have the chair or not) can help me out with the following questions, I'd be very grateful.
1) Why wouldn't the Dolphin be good for the client? Is the "knee thing" I read about in the other thread still an issue or does changing the angle of the seat solve that?
2) Why would it be "bad" for a chair to use the therapist's body weight to "do the work"?
Anything else you want to comment on regarding this chair is welcome and would be helpful for me.FYI 2
: For those who may be wondering why I'm already asking questions about a chair when I just started school, don't worry there's a method to my madness.
In a nutshell, I was offered space for rent at a local natural hair salon (family friends own it). I didn't want to do table massage in that atmosphere so I negotiated chair massage a few days a week instead. The owners loved the idea, so I want to start saving for my chair. Plus, in just a couple months, we'll be covering chair massage in class so I want to practice on my own too. Thanks in advance!!
