Massage Question?

Postby jeremyk on Wed Feb 16, 2005 5:59 pm

The Bellagio brochure says "clothing optional spa". what does this mean? Aren't most spas clothing optional for body treatments? Aren't there draping laws in Nevada?

For a massage, do most spas offer a choice between a sheet or a towel?

I would like to try a body treatment but was wondering if men usually get these and are these clothing optional. What if the treatment is from a female? I would prefer a female anyway.

Just looking for spa service only.

From the Bellagio web site....
What to Wear During a Treatment
Spa Bellagio does not require any dress code, it is a clothing optional environment. It is recommended during a Body Treatment or Massage that those treatments are enjoyed without clothing although undergarments may be worn if preferred. Professional draping is performed throughout the duration of the service for privacy. We request that all guests take a shower prior to arrival. We will provide robes and slippers for your convenience.

That is, you will be draped, but what you wear under the drape is optional

also from the web site:
Spa attire provided: robes, sandals, shorts, and T-shirts.

Sounds fairly standard spa environment

For a massage, do most spas offer a choice between a sheet or a towel?

no, they don't. If you have a big preference for one, either let them know in advance or tell them as soon as you see the one you don't like.

I would like to try a body treatment but was wondering if men usually get these and are these clothing optional.

Men do get body treatments. Not sure by what you mean as "most" - most women don't get body treatments, as in a huge percentage of the population never sets foot inside a spa. Of the small percentage of the population that does go to spas, a lot are women, but certainly not all.

Many spas, or at least the ones around here (can't speak for everywhere) have a dressing room that you will leave your clothes in, and wear their robes/slippers. For wraps, you will most likely wear their shorts, so that you don't have to worry about getting mud, herbs, etc. on your own clothing. Most spas do not offer a choice between a sheet or towel, so, like melb said, you should inquire about this during your call to them, and say which you prefer. They'll let you know if they offer that or not. Enjoy your spa day! :D
