How to find an LMT near me

Postby funcrew on Wed Sep 21, 2011 10:44 pm

How would I locate LMT's in private practice near me? I live in a certain Nevada city where there's a massage school, 3 asian massage places and about 5 spas within walking distance, but these all have various drawbacks. After reading a lot of discussions on this forum, I would like to try a trained professional that is running or building a serious practice.

An hour of Google searching didn't get me very far. Office or home setting OK, but my home will not work.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You can use the "Find a Massage Therapist" searches on the sites: http://www.amtamassage.org and http://www.massagetherapy.com. I know there are many listing sights out there as well such as http://www.wellness.com so I hope this will get you started. Good luck! :)

ETA: If the massage school has a website, they may have a search feature for their alumni, or you may even contact them directly and ask for referrals.

If there is a specific kind of work that you are hoping your Massage Therapist would specialize in, you could try looking up that type of work or modality and they may have a list of local practitioners which you can access.

You could tell us what city in Nevada you live in and see if anyone here is willing to share their location with you.

You can also search our "member list" by city or state (it takes a lot of scrolling) to see if anyone is in your undisclosed location. Click on "Members" next to the Login/Logout at top right of your screen.
