Hello from Braceville! A small little town in IL

Postby AztecQueen2012 on Sun Oct 09, 2011 5:58 pm

Hi there! I'm very excited to have found this site and to introduce myself to all fellow bodyworkers out there! I'm new to blogging and the jargon on the site, please bear with me. I'm a recent grad, passed my exam and now waiting on my license. A friend who I haven't seen in years, is a hairstylist and has a business, has offered me to rent a room once I've received my license. She is going to let me have my own business, and I just pay her rent. I feel very blessed, excited and nervous all rolled into one!! When I was in school, that's all I thought of, was having a business to be able to the work I love so much and now that I've come face to face with my dreams...it has become a little scary. So I will be posting questions in the appropriate (i hope) :) forums, needing all the help and advice I can get. It's great to meet you!

Welcome to the board! :) I'm sure you will find a lot of helpful info and people here. I recommend scouring the whole site and reading even the oldest threads. There is SO much great information on here. Good luck with everything, and let us know how things go with getting your license and the room at your friends place! :smt006

Hello & Welcome! Sounds like you'll be off to a great start! While you're just getting started & trying to build a client base, perhaps your friend would allow you to do a partial trade/barter for a part of the rent, at least until you get on your feet? Just something to consider as there are always expenses in setting up a new business & you need to generate enough income to pay for your space after all.

In any case, best of luck in your new career & I hope you'll find loads of great info & support here on our forum!
