Massage schools in Washington DC area

Postby yellowcat1 on Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:20 pm

Hello,
I'm thinking about going to massage school and I need to make a decision which school to choose. I am in Washington DC and I found 3 major schools:

Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI)
Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage
National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI)

There are very few reviews of these schools online, I mostly found reviews of the quality of massages in schools clinics. I am looking for the high quality program and it doesn't have to be the cheapest. I spoke to Admissions departments of these schools and it's quite hard to make a decision based on the info they provide, it all sounds like good marketing to me. Has anyone graduated from any of these schools recently? Or anyone is going to any of these schools now? How was / is your experience? Do you feel you are getting the good quality education you paid for? Would you recommend it to your best friend?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

I have recently heard that PMTI is a very good massage school. I am also looking into massage school in the Washington DC area, and would like to know which of these schools is the best deal. I have heard some good things about PMTI, but have not really heard much about the other two. Do you have a recommendation or any information that would help me to make my decision? Thanks. :)

We served on the advisory board for NMTI and found them very receptive to ideas that will enhance student chances of success.

For instance, they include fees for your NCBTMB certification and local licensing in your total tuition so you dont end up finished with school, too broke to get your license and unable to earn any money after having spent all that money on tuition!
Smithers: "Sir, I'm afraid we have a bad image, people see you as a bit of an ogre." Mr.Burns: "I ought to club them and eat their bones!"
