Body Warp/Scrub question

Postby heather on Thu Aug 23, 2007 7:00 am

What do you find to be the best scrub/wrap to use that does not require rinsing off, but can be wiped off?

Thanks in advance!

Body Warp/Scrub question
---- Let's do the body-WARP againnnnnnnn! *chuckles* I just couldn't help it. :D

I don't have an answer, but somewhere in the spa section --- look to the old pages --- there is a great thread about scrubs and such for dry rooms.

Biotone has a spa line that is also made for dry rooms. What's also good is all the muds and such are unscented so you can totally create your own blends to add to the muds, scrubs and body butter.

Except for the salt scrub (which is a little messy--gets all over the floor), I use them in all my spa work b/c they wipe off very easily and also generally launder out well (as long as you wash that day).

The spa I work at uses Biotone's Milk & Honey (body butter plus customizing complex) for a treatment and it's really popular. You don't even need to remove the product with a towel, you can just massage the remainder into their skin.
We also use some Amber products... the Marine Algae body wrap is fairly popular too.
We also use some sugars, scrubs & polishes... which we remove with wet towels.

oh, great, now I have the "lets do the time warp again" song stuck in my brain!

My favorite is a chocolate/raspbery body polish from Universalcompanies. They have a few different flavors, but that one was my clients fav. I dont have shower facilities, but it's fairly easy to wipe off with hot towels.

I have yet to find a scrub/mud/clay product that I can't wipe off with moist towels (from a hot towel cabi)

I've done everything from dead sea mud to sugar and salt scrubs to seaweed gel. Everything comes off nicely with the towels. Of course some things require more towels than others...............

As far as easiest to remove, that would have to be Biotone's muds. They have 3 kinds. A Black Baltic mud, a Green Sea mud and a Pink Rose mud. They are all 3 very nice.

I also like the clays and muds from Camden-Grey. Amber's muds are good too.

I also like to have clays around because they have such a long shelf life. They don't come off and easily as the pre-mixed ones that you buy from Biotone or Amber or such as those (they have extra ingredients mixed in) but they only consist of clay and you mix it with water. Very simple.

Thank you pueppi! Now we will all be doing the time warp again. It's just a jump to the left and then a step to the right....... :P

Homemade sugar scrubs are great, as well as salt!

About 3 years ago I took the weekend spa class that Biotone offers. It was the best class I have ever taken. I am now the owner of a massage and day spa. All of our rooms are "Dry" (no means of running water) we use hydrocollator to get the towels hot and then use the hot towel cabi to keep them warm till we are ready for them. I've not used other products besides the Biotone, partly because that's what I was trained on and also because it is just a great product.

We were taught to keep in mind that the more salt scrub and/or mud we used only meant that you had that much more to take off. I guess what I'm saying is that you don't need to use a lot of mud and/or salt for the product to be effective.

The Lotus Touch Citrus Body Polish is very easy to wipe off and smells great too. We use it with the GX-99 and massage after the polish with the Lotus Touch Hydrating Rich Lotion. It makes a huge difference in dry skin.

Does anyone hear do aloe wraps? I am looking for a good place to get the aloe. Either premixed or the dry aloe product and I mix myself.

I do a shea butter and aloe wrap. I bought my aloe gel at my local health food store (they carry the gallon size.)

Thanks moogie but I think that is something different. Not sure?

What I am wanting is the liquid you poor over the the wraps, heat, wrap the body, wrap in a mylar sheet , then a sheet and leave them for 45 minutes. Which results in inch loss.

Same thing?

No, what I use goes directly on the skin, but perhaps it is the same thing? It is a liquid aloe if that helps.
