Re: Do you clip your nails or file them down?

Depends how long they get. I have recently been wearing polish on my nails as well, which I change about twice a week.

I have also left towels in over night on occasion and not had any odor. There is a possibility she is working in a place without chlorinated water.

Re: How to have hot towels ready all the time?

If I need to have towels hot quickly, I will microwave them and stick them in the towel cabi. If they are hot out of the microwave, they will stay hot even in a cabi that has just been turned on. The cabi gets hot quickly, but it takes time to warm the towels. If you stick them in preheated, you are...

Re: Have you read about this MT in Georgia?

Her site is now down.

I have seen some unlicensed women offering 'body rubs' and stating that they are different than a massage. Typically these women have pictures of themselves in various states of undress.

Re: oil doesn't wash out of micro fiber sheets

I have used jojoba in the past and had oil in my sheets after washing. I never noticed oil in the dryer though! A long time ago when I was still using jojoba I had to take a couple sets of sheets to the office, but the basket had to stay with the other sheets. We put the sheets in a paper bag and th...

Re: oil doesn't wash out of micro fiber sheets

Right now I am washing my sheets with an extremely strong degreasing solution. I am also washing my fleece pad because that probably has oil on it too. If this doesn't work I won't waste my time washing the other sheets, I'll just buy new ones. I have been thinking about this all day. I really like ...

Re: oil doesn't wash out of micro fiber sheets

Changing to lotion has crossed my mind. After some research last night, one thing i know i am guilty of is not washing them in a timely manner. I think what i am going to do is reduce the number of sheets i have. Currently i have a dozen sets and sometimes they don't get washed for 3 or 4 days if it...

oil doesn't wash out of micro fiber sheets

Hello all, I have been practicing for over 10 years now. About a year ago, I switched over to micro fiber sheets and also to fractionated coconut oil at the same time. I started out 10 years ago using jojoba, but then a couple years ago jojoba sky rocketed in price so I switched to sunflower oil. My...

Re: Charging for a study?

It sort of helps me. What I am trying to do is find people who have forearm pain from repetitive work. I have been having problems with both of my arms and a week ago I started using a tool to dig in a bit and I also used a Hitachi Magic Wand on one of my arms. I can really tell the difference betwe...

Charging for a study?

If I want to do some research in the form of a study (I think that is the right word), can I charge for it?? For instance, if I want to try to help people with plantar fascistic, and I want to have people come in 2x per week for 4 weeks to perform certain techniques on them, can I charge them? I wou...

Medical Massage vs Physical Therapy

I have a workman's comp client. She was going to PT through a local hospital before seeing me. She had been in for other issues in the past. She wasn't happy with PT, she thought they were too rough and gave her more pain than relief. She told me PT was costing $300 an hour. $300 an hour?? Is that t...

1. What is the one thing you wish you had known in your first year, that you know now? Don't set your prices to low when you first start out. Give extra time or add ons, don't discount your basic rate only. If you do discount, make them earn it with a referral. 2. What is the biggest challenge in th...

charting software

I am looking for updated information about charting online and SOAP note software.

A lot of the information on this site about it seems a bit dated. I am looking for something extremely easy to use and not to terribly expensive. It's been difficult to find such a product.

Poo. I was really hoping to hear better things about Eco Fin. I also bring paraffin to clients on the table in a measured portion. My problem is that a lot of clients complain that the paraffin I'd to hot. It's difficult to get the proper comfortable temperature.

In my state, the state form asks if you have tried to contact or inform the person you are filing about. I just got in an order of topical analgesics. Included in my order was tubes of Sandra, Sombra roll on, and a few bottles of the new Biofreeze 360 spray. I priced both Sombra products at 11 dollars 99 cents. the Biofreeze was more expensive. I priced it at 14 dollars 99 cents. I was curious about wh...

I think you can get away with it, *if* you have the body and the personality to pull it off. If you are chunky, then dress to your body-type ( most likely not yoga pants ). I am plus sized and wear yoga pants all the time when I am working. But then my scrub tops go just past my hips. I would not w...

I use Spabooker. I was able to get in 4 years ago when they were just starting up and offered it for free. Now I believe they charge $300 or $400 to get in. They also charge a monthly fee of .05%. I like them a lot. They have a lot of functionality and are constantly improving. Besides online bookin...

Re: body wrap and exfoliation combo

Scheduling the shower may get tricky because it is in the same room as the floatation spa. I was thinking that if I didn't use a salt or sugar scrub I could get away from using the shower and just rely on the hot towels. In the future when I get a steam shower I will have two showers available and s...

Re: body wrap and exfoliation combo

Hi Shiva, I have seen exfoliation gloves, and they are not like this exfoliation cloth. The cloth has a lot of options. You can hold the ends of the cloth in each hand and briskly rub it over the clients skin. You can also wrap it around your hand and use it like you would the exfoliating gloves. Yo...
