I'm working on an article and have a few spas to interview already but would love to interview or talk to anyone else who grows their own herbs/plants for use in your practice. You can leave a message or email me at ang.england at yahoo (dot) com. :-)

Around here you'd be doing good to get minimum wage. Sorry. I would DEFINITELY look around elsewhere for additional positions.

Our own - rose of sharon - published an article about making homemade soap with hidden goodies inside. I'm going to try a batch with $5 coins inside for my brothers who have outgrown "little kid trinkets" but for a toddler, even a small animal figure would be SO much fun, eh? http://untrainedhousewi...

And another thing - rant beginning - As a mother and a woman and a caring human being I find it incredibly horrifying that the doctors are placed in a position where they feel FORCED to give this baby stuff they KNOW she will react badly to just to jump through an insurance hoop. It costs the insura...

You know what's amazing to me? It's amazing to me that within 24 hours we had raised enough to purchase a week's supply of milk. It's amazing to me that a bunch of moms and dads and private citizens could do for Jaeli in 24 HOURS what the hospital administrators could not do for her in FOUR FREAKIN ...

Baby Jaeli

If you can help create awareness for Baby Jaeli's situation this is a family I know personally. http://angengland.com/Jaeli

Tweet, facebook, email to yahoo groups and prayer lists, etc. That would be so helpful.

If someone complains that I charge $20 more than another massage therapist in town I reply sweetly "My prices reflect the level of my training" - if they continue to hem or haw I offer them the number of the local massage school where they can get "a student massage". 4/5 book with me. :-) 1/10th ta...

There is an interesting movie about a man who receives a heart transplant and later falls in love with the widow of the donor or something like that. I can't remember the title but it was based on a true story. I also read an article where a woman who received organ donation from a MURDERED woman wa...

Re: Pueppi--goat massage help?

Um - wow. Our goats have never had issues like that - they are usually SO resiliant. Most goats hate having their horns pulled and will naturally react by pushing back against you. You can restrain them by standing over them and squeezing the base of their neck between your legs leaving teir head ou...

Another great alternative to investigate is a coop pay group. My parents, both self-employed with a large family (eight kids), have used a Christian coop program called Samaritan Ministries. With this particular group you have to be active in a church community but there are various groups out there...

Re: WHAT is going rate for Chiro Assistants?

I made $40-$60 as an IC because we split massages 50/50. The very few occasions I helped behind the desk I was paid $10 per hour for my hourly work as an employee. It was the most wonderful situation I've ever been in, I cannot even tell you. having said that - there are different kinds of chiro adj...

The best arrangement I ever has as a massage therapist was with a chiropractor. We had the most amazing working relationship and it was WONDERFUL. Our client return-to-work rate was so much better than the osteopath in town that the local government offices started referring ALL their worker's comp ...

Show him the math. If he gives an adjustment he gets X amount. If he then sends the client in for a 30 minute massage he will X amount WHILE HE'S ADJUSTING FOUR MORE CLIENTS!!! He'll get X amount from those adjustments, X amount from the massage, and his client will feel better and talk about how gr...

That's great! It helps having a blog even if you don't update it often, because you can put the information you want clients to have access to online and it's ALWAYS THERE. :-) It's like advertising that never goes away.

Re: crying newborn

Kiola-Care or Slinging - wearing your baby can be one of the best ways to soothe a fussy newborn. Of any age. Mom might try to relactate (see Kelly Mom website for information about that) because breatmilk can also help soothe a fussy baby and the act of nursing is naturally soothing.
