I voted "yes" even though we send out Cards not postcards cause I was thinking potatoes/patatoes....same difference. Angie, The reason I was so specific is that I do think there is a slight difference in how a postcard / card is received by the client. This is completely my opinion, but I feel that...

cstbrian, sorry to disagree but osteopathic physicians do address soft tissue. A lot of osteopathic manipulation medicine (OMM) techniques deal with muscle energy, counter-strain, and tender points. There isn't some separation of bone from soft tissue in osteopathy; on the contrary, it's all part o...

I checked off 'No' because I send new client 'Thank You' CARDS. At a high volume, sending Welcome post cards to new clients is cost-prohibitive. We have been sending e-mails instead, and that generally gets a great response, including some testimonials we can use in marketing. For a postcard, I woul...

Don't you think people are more honest if the survey is done anonymously? I understand giving the incentives to get people to get the info back. But, don't you think requiring them to give their names will have an effect on how they answer?

Just a thought.

Be an onlooker, an aide; not a pusher. It is not for us to determine what the client needs, nor is it our duty to provoke this. :smt041 YAY!! Well put! I find the best CST sessions are the ones where I can truly get out of the way and just be a 'curious observer' to the process. If I can stay compl...

Re: Unwinding + deep tissue contacts? + how to avoid unwindi

And on the other end of the spectrum, my understanding is that in Upledger work they really don't go into unwinding? How do they handle it when the client's body goes into it? :-) Do they have methods for "turning unwinding off"? We certainly do ... we just don't call it unwinding. And we do not te...

Let me also throw in that this is not an Upledger approved class and he is not an Upledger approved Instructor. So if you decide to go the Upledger route and want to take other classes, you would have to start all over again because these classes are not taught by the institute.

Thanks, that helped a lot. I'm still curious to know, in Upledger's work are energy cysts treated only with unwinding or with other methods as well? No problem. In Upledger work we don't use the term 'unwinding', but the body does sort of 'unwind' as a result of the treatment. We teach that one can...

I am curious about the term "energy cysts" - what is it? What is the nature of the energy? Why is it called a cyst? Are there "energy adhesions"? Here's a place to start: Releasing the Energy Cyst By John Upledger, DO, OMM (article from Massage Today, August 2003) Let me know what questions remain ...

Brian, Who is AT? I should have written it as A. T. He has a fascinating story and I highly recommend people learn more about him. He was well ah...

What are these postcards for? Are you doing a promo? Is this just a 'Happy New Year' card? Is it a 'Thanks for your business' card? Two things .... First, I agree with R&R. If I were a business owner, I would want hiring to be 'down' it means that I have found the best people and the right number of people to be successful. Second, could the hiring being down also be from ME opening less locations? Perhaps slowing down for a bit?

I'm at about 95% regulars, and 5% occasional.

(This number is based on regulars coming in at least once within an 8 week period. However the majority of my 95% come monthly or more frequently.)
