Reflexology App for Android

Just purchased this VERY COOL, 3D reflexology app for Android. I am using it on my tablet as a fun interactive reference, to share with clients, and as a learning tool (as it also has quizzes). It covers the foot, hand, ear and face. It also allows for inputing a set of symptoms, then maps out the r...

Reflexology Brochures & Business Cards

Wanted to pass along a big ol' thumb's up to Natural Touch Marketing. I've used ABMP's version of their reflexology brochure in the past, but it didn't really fit me 100% (save the template, then upload to Vistaprint, etc). The version from RAA doesn't quite fit me either. I may create my own versio...

Re: Castor Oil & Reflexes

You've mentioned the Maya abdominal massage to me before (you're not the only one either...which should be a hint). This forum would be a good place to ask more about it! Apparently, I don't need to ask about it - just did a forum search and there's already plenty of info floating around...

Re: Castor Oil & Reflexes

Thanks! Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of applying castor oil to reflexes, no pack or heat source. You've mentioned the Maya abdominal massage to me before (you're not the only one either...which should be a hint). This forum would be a good place to ask more about it!

Re: Castor Oil & Reflexes

I decided to go with the book written before that one on pre-menopause first (will read the menopause one after). Downloaded it to my tablet for 6 dollars and change, fabulous. Thank you for the suggestion.

Kindred Where are you now?! Hi there - I'm Kindred (user name change since 2005)! Wow, it has been almost 8 years since I started this topic. Wanted to pop back in here to say that I changed professional direction and went to school for reflexology 3 years ago. I have not had ANY issues with asking...

Re: Castor Oil & Reflexes

Hi - thank you! No, I haven't looked into any essential oils for uterine support. My main goal is to avoid surgery. Castor oil is known for use with soft tissue injuries, decongesting tissues and supposedly helping toward shrinking fibroids. Fibroid growth is sort of estrogen dependent, so I'm tryin...

Re: Castor Oil & Reflexes

As of right now, I see 145 look-sees...but unfortunately for me no replies. However, since I posted this topic about a week and a half ago, I've decided that I'm totally not diggin' the consistency of castor oil (it's very thick and sticky...too much for me during the heat of summer especially) and ...

Castor Oil & Reflexes

:smt006 Hi there - it's been a long while since I've posted. Curious to know if anyone has experience using castor oil on specific reflex points. I am asking for myself, not a client. It has been suggested to me, by at least 4 different health practitioners, to use castor oil packs for uterine fibro...

Hi - first, CONGRATS on completing your training! :dancingparty: ...whoo-hooo! I don't have the answer regarding mailings, but I think having a face-to-face might be more effective. I had a Vet contact me because she had seen my ad somewhere...wish I could remember where! I did a lot of volunteering...

Re: Aromatherapist Professional Certification - where?

Thanks! I have been working with flower essences almost as long as I've been practicing bodywork. I've learned more recently, over the past few years, that local essences are typically best. Thankfully, I have a few choices in MA and NH (and Vermont). Not that essences from across the pond aren't gr...

Re: First Young Person!

I sent his mom a message today and asked if there were any miracles. She said, "no, but he did perform reflexology on my feet last night, it was so funny." He said to his mom, "now tell me if any place is sensitive."

HAHA! How much do I love that!?!? There is no measure. :smt060

Thanks for asking! :D I did not ask permission to share here...but, without saying exactly what, it was for an issue. I will ask though because it would be great to discuss. We scheduled 30 min for his first session which he was still for the whole time! I also made this a home visit, he'll come to ...

Re: Aromatherapist Professional Certification - where?

Muchos gracias, Pueppi! Since I posted this, I have become super-sensitive to EOs and plants in general. An aromatherapy certification program is not for me, however, I will be studying flower essences (trees specifically) at some point in the near future.

Worked on my first young person today - 10 years old! I will see him again in 4 weeks. Was a great session and just wanted to share my excitement.

Re: Coronal Zone Reflex Therapy with Lee Anthony Taylor

Just wanted to acknowledge that I read your post. The article is very interesting and I enjoyed reading it! I am coming up on 2 years with practicing reflexology and still feel as though I am in my infancy, so I'm not sure I have a true or valid opinion at this point. The more foot maps I come acros...

There's gotta be a few threads on cleaning products in the "Tools of the Trade" section of the forum. I could be wrong though! :D I always used soapy water, antibacterial soap, on my table. These days, I am using disinfecting/antimicrobial wipes on most everything that I touch during a session, incl...

Re: How much talking during a session?

The eye pillow suggestion was ingenious, thanks a lot! But would it work with a client wearing makeup, mascara, eyeliner and so on? I also wonder if dimming the lights just a tad bit more was a good idea. Glad you liked it! Just so you know, I encourage feedback from the client during the first few...
