I volunteer as a massage therapist with Relay for Life. I also am on a volunteer massage therapy team who works with kiddos living with serious cardiac issues.

I love, love, love volunteering my services!

I love, love, love Notes from the Universe! I've been receiving them for the last 3 or 4 years. They just started an awesome charity deal too. Just $1 a month can really add up when lots of folks do it. Very cool organization!

I am in the Stephenville area one weekend every 4-6 weeks and will be relocating there in 2 years. Were you successful in finding a good massage therapist in the area? I'd love to find other therapists to network with.

Thanks!

Informal Volunteer Massage Team Brainstorming

I'm very interested in starting an informal volunteer massage team in my area. I'd appreciate you brainstorming with me on caveats, ideas, suggestions... I picture it being set up as a monthly opportunity at first. I am willing to coordinate it. I'm thinking I would request a simple application, sho...

I took the CST I back in 2004 and it still ranks as my all time favorite course. The first day I was doubtful...the next three I was in awe. Absolutely awesome modality, in my opinion. If I were handed a large educational grant, I'd spend the vast majority of it on those courses.

My new favorite: "By touching a body, we touch every event it has experienced. For a few brief moments we hold all of a client's stories in our hands. We witness someone's experience of their own flesh, through some of the most powerful means possible: the contact of our hands, the acceptance of the...

I have considered quitting a time or two. But I found that the times that comes up are usually the times I'm seeing every person who calls ....trying to be "THE massage therapist" to each client, instead of marketing to the massage and bodywork clientele that I enjoy the most. When I work with my me...

Great topic! For me, the number one key to burnout prevention is to work in the modalities I love and with the clients I am most drawn to. Sounds simple enough, but I used to find myself seeing anyone who needed massage, when finances were tight. That got me more of those type clients and lots of st...

This young lady had been Wendy's massage client for 4 years. Wendy works as a massage therapist at local children's hospital. The young gi...
