Re: How are you using the web to find new clients?

For me it's mostly organic search results and Yelp. Of course I am in a tech-saturated area where most people are used to Googling and Yelping to find what they're looking for.

Massage therapist survey

Hi folks, I am doing a survey of massage therapists on the challenges they face in their businesses/careers. I'm looking to answer some questions about how I might be able to help MTs, especially in terms of making web/tech stuff easier. Thanks in advance to any of you who would be willing to fill t...

Re: For me....

Massage is an avocation, a spiritual/emotional/physical/mental journey rather a vocation. I believe the shift in the Field of Massage from an avocation (predominantly personal encounter) to a vocation (predominantly mercantile exchange) is a step away from wisdom Hmm... I don't think that's what vo...

Re: Difficult Stoned Client

I've had plenty of clients who have had some form marijuana sometime before their session, with no problems at all. It's very common here. SF is a very marijuana friendly city, and medical marijuana has been here for quite some time. Reading your post, it doesn't sound like marijuana was the real pr...

Quite welcome... re #15, it's not for everybody! Starting my new practice in a new location next month and reading back over old ideas ... thanks everyone for your input. Especially you, Josh, thanks so much for the list of 15 points (it's like a FutureMe, only in your case it's PastMe). I'll have t...

Re: Need advice from masseuse therapist

How quickly did you get off the table? And did you push your body up into gravity with your hands & arms, or did you use your torso? You might try resting a few moments after the massage is complete, then slowly scoot down onto the table and turn onto one side. Rest a few moments more. Then slowly p...

Re: Asked to never work on a particular client

I really can't be sure what I would do. It would be case by case, I'm sure. I'll say this: I don't think you're under any obligation to work on anyone you don't want to work on. And racists certainly aren't a protected class.

Re: Increasing Website Traffic

What do you ladies and gentlemen do to increase your website traffic? I've had my site for a couple of months and so far no potential clients have called me. This is two different issues. Website traffic is the number of people coming to your website. Two basic things to look at here are quantity a...

Hi folks... after spending some time chatting elsewhere on the web... I have to say this is still the best place for MTs (or anyone for that matter) to interact. Not that we don't have our problems sometimes, but on the whole it feels really good here!

knee injury help

Hi folks, A dear friend of mine is dealing with a knee injury. It feels out of my depth, and I would love to be able to help her more. This all started after a fall. She's told me that the diagnosis she got from a chiropractor was a stretched ligament, medial side of the knee. Chiro also said someth...
