Re: Utah license requirements

Okay, disregard my last post, I found the other thread that you had explained your situation on. My best recommendation is looking at UCMT, which has a campus in Aurora and a campus in Westminster. I know you said you're not hot on the schools in Utah, and these would be exactly the same, but.. you'...

Re: Utah license requirements

Kitsune, I've been away from this board for quite a few months and am not really sure what it is you're needing, but I'm licensed in Utah and have a pretty good knowledge of the schools in the state. From what I gather, you're from Colorado but moving to Utah? And you're short some hours in order to...

Re: multistate licensing?

This might not help since you're already IN Utah, but you can do volunteer events (on a temporary basis) without getting a Utah license, but maybe AZ, NM and CO are the same. Easiest way to find out is to contact each state's licensing boards. New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Dept. Arizona State Bo...

I would go for the trigger point class if you're wanting to work with chiropractors

Re: Politics Revisited

Religious people can have high morals; un-religious people can have high morals. Religious people can have low morals; un-religious people can have low morals. Morals are also very subjective. If they weren't, choosing a candidate would be so much different. What is immoral to me might be considered...

Re: Forming an alliance with other practitioners.

This is very similar to the situation I am in right now. I rent my space from the business owner (it's a sub-lease situation, he pays rent for the entire suite) as do 2 other therapists and a yoga instructor. We work under the same logo, share just a few costs, and all maintain our own business lice...

I'm sure every body responds differently. I don't really go into a sneezing fit, but tend to get a runny nose after a (good) Reflexology session and always chalked it up to my sinuses being affected.

Really? You can't imagine that? --- Well I sure can! What an interesting thought. Would you be willing to thoroughly check that out with them (sometime in the future) and getting back to us on that? I would be very interested to hear what you find out and if that is for as long as the therapist is ...

Re: SOPA Strike - unfiltered list of participating websites

I'd say about 80% of the sites I visit are/will be affected. If I had a website, I would submit it.

Here is a nice site that gives a lot of information and will actually connect your call to a senator to speak with them about the issue:

Everyone definitely has their own ideas of boundaries and business practices, as well as different goals and different motivations. If it works for her and makes her happy, well, she's entitled to that. I see what you mean though, it's definitely not something I would do either. I might be okay with...

Re: Maintaining my NCBTMB certification?

I've been wondering that myself. My state laws are different, NCBTMB certification or the MBLEx is required to get your initial license, but when you go to renew your state license you just double check that all your information is the same, pay them $50 and you're good to go. There's nowhere that t...

Re: Why did you choose this career?

I think the first thing that sparked my interest was a simple fascination with the human body, how it works, why it sometimes doesn't function the way it should, and the effects of that (I took 3 different anatomy classes just in high school because I just couldn't get enough). I was originally more...

Re: Politics Revisited

Although his politics aren't for my taste, I do see Ron Paul as being one of the more open about his actual beliefs than most of the candidates. Most of them seem to spout whatever they think will get them elected. This goes for conservatives, liberals (although there aren't any in the 2012 preside...

Re: How and When to Say No?

You can absolutely say no to buying things you don't need/want and can't afford, but I'd recommend still going to some parties here and there (time permitting of course) with a stack of business cards in your pocket. I've gotten quite a few clients at those things. As far as giving away your time, I...

Just a little note on my experience with jersey sheets (since squash_blsm mentioned them), on top of them sticking to clients, mine got all skewed and warped in the wash so they're not straight and look all twisted on the table.

This sounds like an awesome lifestyle that I could easily feel comfortable with because I love going from place to place and not being tied down anywhere. What, exactly, is the goal of this petition? Yes, Polly Pocket already exists, just as Barbie dolls already exist but there are now Bratz -and a million other types of similar- dolls. It's up to a parent what to buy for their kids, not manufacturers, no matter how skewed or sexist the image is that ...

We're pretty much free to wear what we want in our shop as long as it looks nice (no ripped jeans, midriff tops, shorts, etc). I've actually always admired Ron Paul for his perseverance (sometimes his views and sometimes not). He has a big sway over the younger generation this time around though, and I think that could weigh quite heavily in his favor.

Any massage therapists trained in acupuncture? If so how do you integrate into a massage session? Or do you perform acupuncture as its own treatment session? It really just depends on what your goals are and what you deem as being "worthwhile". Perhaps all someone wants is for people to know that they exist, not necessarily acquire clients right away, and a free chair massage event will provide that. I definitely see your point here, though: Sends two ve...

Re: NCBTMB Chair Massage at IKEA Event

I think IKEA is kind of an odd place to promote massage, but thousands of therapists volunteer for marathons, triathlons, other sporting events, and so on. Local therapists might take advantage of another business's event to promote themselves by offering free chair massage. This is no different, on...

Re: Door question...with lots of pics.

I've seen offices with wood doors that have glass panels, either within the door or to the side. Maybe that's an option so people can still see in and know it's not the treatment room but you still have more of a sound barrier?
