Re: Sugru??? Anyone Used It?

pueppi, opening the link you provided in the opening post says it does. :) I like that stuff, I might buy some just to have around the place (price depending, I didn't check that far yet) edit: for me, just a tad steep for having around to get old, if I needed it, probably worth it's weight in gold.

Re: question about deep tissue

A lot of my "deep tissue" questions were answered when one of my instructors said, Deep tissue is not so much about digging in with pointy elbows as it is Intent. IOW know where you are going and what you want to do when you get there. Like Marion said, listen to tissue feed back. (It might take som...

Re: Hello from London.

Welcome. This place is currently not very active but with a little searching you can find a wealth of knowledge. As long as your are not in a hurry someone will be along to address your concerns. I started my body worker training at 53 and received my certification in Dec. 2003. Still learning, stil...

My back is somewhat hairy and I have never noticed any hair pulling. I'm also guessing that he knows he is yanking you...

Re: "Scary" post-surgical client

WIWD (what I would do)- Being old enough that I might forget stuff, I would tell him something I could remember more easily, i.e.; the truth. You have already said it in your posts. I am uncomfortable working on you as I do not wish to be a party to you re-injuring your shoulder. If your client/his ...

Re: "Scary" post-surgical client

I would tell him without knowing the contraindications and any precautions that you could very well cause further harm. Also, if he can't help you with that you are not ethically able to work on him. Caution him on going elsewhere for the same reason. 11 days doesn't seem very long to be going back ...

Since beheading causes death and I won't lay down for death, I will go to "war". If they didn't want to kill me I would let them be, thus it was their declaration.

libertarian 1. a believer in free will 2. an advocate of full civil liberties (according to my Webster's) myself? I'm a cross of Libertarian and Constitutional Conservative and I believe all government should get their hand outta my pocket and their tail outta my yard. Climbing down now. :)

Though my word is my bond and I agree with your Libertarian thinking there are a lot of liars and cheats from the very top United States public servant job on down. Various parts of my life have and do require background checks involving Homeland Security, F.B.I., CA D.O.J., to local P.D. and Sherif...

Re: Earthlite Caress Face Cradle issues?

Sometimes easier to get center to center measurements by measuring right side of one hole to the right side of the other (or left side to left side). Takes guessing at the "exact" center of the holes out of the equation.

Penyylane, Hi and welcome! Sorry, awfully slow around here. Why don't you see if you can talk to as many alumnae from the school as possible. I certified the end of 2003 from, I think, a very good school/program and I believe I'm good at what I do. But, I for sure have not made my first million and ...

Re: How can I find the right therapist?

Couple of thoughts, You have of course asked your current therapist for a referral(s)? Next, you've had ten+ years to get used to each other, I think you're gonna have to give a little more time before writing off your next one. As every therapist gives a different massage and every client receives ...

Re: Heavier pressure

IMHO, general heavy handedness, (or elbow) does not equal deep tissue. A long time ago one of my massage school instructors said that "a whole lot of deep tissue is intent". In other words, get your mind into the tissue. I think that, and a good knowledge of anatomy/muscles will go a long way toward...

Re: How do I become more confident in my massage?

That could be one of the "standard constructive criticisms" that "clinic clients" give out ya know? I've been certified since 2003 and can tell you that confidence will come. On the other hand I still get a little anxious with each new client wanting them to think I'm as good as I think I am. (at le...
